Recently, we received email notice of an upcoming delivery…

Notification

Email notification about package delivery with estimated delivery date of October 6, 2025.

Received the Notice: late on October 1

Estimated Delivery: October 6, in five days

We did not click “Upgrade Now”.

However, as experienced Receivers Of Deliveries (ROD’s), we checked our calendars. We wanted to ensure someone would be here in five days if the delivery had to be signed for.

Delivery

Delivery notification for a shipment from a multinational package delivery and supply chain management company, showing delivery details including date and time.

WOW, out for delivery the next morning. It was delivered in less than 24 hours. This was after receiving notice that delivery would be in five days! They are getting Super Efficient!

Listen, all you “multinational package delivery and supply chain management companies” (and USPS), make this a lesson…
extend the Estimate, beat the Estimate!

Disclaimer: upon further research, the ROD’s determined that the package was actually picked up locally. This means overnight delivery wasn’t that surprising. However, it makes a better story without the disclaimer.
