Cedar Key is a small city on the west coast of Florida. The Cedar Keys is a cluster of islands near the mainland. The City of Cedar Key has a resident population of less than 1000. It retains many of the charms of old Florida. It has been likened to Key West 50 years ago.

The city was seriously hit by Hurricane Helene in September, 2024, with a storm surge of 10′. Recovery and rebuilding are still underway.

A single 2,355′ paved runway with no facilities, control tower, or FBO. Runway lights and other electronics were knocked out during the Hurricane, so the runway is only available to aircraft during daylight hours. It has the distinction of being the shortest paved runway in Florida.
