“Sure.”

Comment: The ferries are run by a government agency with an impressive title: the North Carolina Department of Transportation Ferry Division. In contrast, privately operated ferries we’ve experienced offered food, fresh coffee, and even—gasp—fine beverages at staffed food stations. The Europeans, in particular, excelled at this. Unfortunately, the government-operated ferries lack such amenities. Even the modest vending machines didn’t work. With over two hours and a large, captive audience—mostly tourists—one wonders: doesn’t anyone see the opportunity?
