This post is part of an ongoing project: scanning my old slides, prints, and negatives (late 1970’s to 2004) into digital format.
1979 was a year of transition, as we moved from Georgia to North Carolina and eagerly awaited the arrival of our fourth family member. The move strengthened our bond with my family in North Carolina.
We spent a lot of 1979 traveling through both states, capturing black-and-white photographs along the way. Our new home in North Carolina included our small motorhome, which I transformed into a self-contained darkroom. Although some negatives were marred by years in storage, the resulting blemishes lend the images an authentic archival quality.
I satisfied my growing interest in Abandoned Places along the way…
