These are HDR (High Dynamic Range) images. HDR is a technique of combining images taken with different exposures so there is a greater range of luminance in the light and dark areas of the images… so that you can see more detail of the image at a more even light range. Digital photography doesn’t handle light ranges as well as the human eye, which automatically adjusts to light and dark; HDR allows us to create images that appear closer to what we actually see. These all are merges of three images, shot on a tripod and with relatively long bracketed exposures.
