We lived in Phoenix, AZ for a lot of years, but left in 2014 for Florida. We exchanged hot and dry Arizona for not-quite-as hot and REALLY humid Florida.

I must admit to missing the desert outside the big city of Phoenix. Compared to the lushness of Florida, it is another world. The desert has a unique beauty and sense of wildness all its own. Recently, we visited Phoenix as part of an extended road trip, and during our visit, I took the opportunity to capture some scenic views of the high desert.

_{^{(Side Note: Want to have some fun with your friends? When discussing Phoenix, pronounce it as it is spelled: P-Hoe-Nix, with a short vowel sound and three syllables, instead of the traditional Fee-Nix. You’ll be surprised at how many of them won’t realize where you’re talking about!)}}
