As followers of this blog are aware, our Intrepid Team Of Reporters spent a while late last year in the Gnome Empire, on the continent of Tampa, on the planet Florida. They reported on the Grand Rebellion against the Lord Emperor Wilson.

Backstory

Far south on the continent of Tampa, on the planet Florida, lies a small territory called the Gnome Empire. It is ruled by the harsh Lord Emperor Wilson, who has ruled with an iron fist since he took the throne in 2017. The Emperor’s cruel rule, backed by his evil followers, is feared across the kingdom. Stories of bad behavior, misdeeds and generally poor attitudes are widespread in the Empire.

The Emperor enjoys traveling the world and collecting mementos and pins. He often meets… and parties… with other despots during his journeys.

Our fearless editors decided to send this Intrepid Team Of Reporters back to the Empire. This is a follow-up to the follow-up of the Rebellion.

Upon our arrival, we found that all was quiet and peaceful in the Empire. All remnants of the Rebellion had quickly disappeared. In fact, there was no indication that it had occurred at all.

The now-magnanimous Lord Emperor Wilson allowed us to accompany him on his daily schedule.

First up was a secret, one-on-one, very private meeting with his counterpart from a slightly larger empire. As always, the Emperor’s minions dressed to suit the occasion.

It appeared from the discussions that the two leaders had much in common to talk about.

Next, it was off to promote the Empire’s fledgling wine enterprises. All wines are bottled under the label, “The Emperor’s Own.” A popular saying throughout the Empire is, “Now we are having a glass of Wilson.” His minions were outfitted in color-coordinated attire.

Emperor Wilson aimed to show that he was a Man of the People. He allowed us to attend a meeting with one of the Empire’s opposition groups, the Minions Organizing Movement.

He demonstrated his positive attitude toward differing views. He did this by not having their heads chopped off in our presence.

Later in the day, we met with the Emperor and his Press Secretary. The Press Secretary’s mantra is, “We scrub everything the Emperor says.”

After an exhausting day traveling with Emperor Wilson, we returned to our quarters. Late that evening, we sneaked into the Emperor’s Abode and found that he was…

in the bag.
