Acquisition of State-of-the-Art Surveillance system for the Gnome Empire.

During a recent visit to the Gnome Empire for the opening of the Rebellion Memorial, our team of intrepid reporters spoke with Lord Emperor Wilson about the new Citizens Protection Surveillance System (CPSS) he has been promoting.

The Emperor began his remarks by ridiculing a recent announcement from other areas of planet Florida regarding an agreement that allows owners of a popular doorbell company’s video recorders to grant law enforcement access to relevant videos,

We do not need such silly personal videos! Our agreement with a major supplier to provide state-of-the-art, high-tech, really-fine equipment capable of overseeing our Gnome population makes personal systems UNNECESSARY and IRRELEVANT.

The Emperor continued, jubilantly showcasing the newly- developed technology and it’s improved security features,

The system utilizes innovative Foto Imaging Light Modules to capture wrongdoers IN THE ACT, eliminating the security risks associated with digital technology. This CPSS, with its F.I.L.M. process, is IMMUNE to the hacking threats that endanger the rest of the continent!

Lord Emperor Wilson closed by stating,

It will provide exceptional protection for our wonderful countrymen against VILLAINS, SCOUNDRELS, KNAVES, MISCREANTS, and REPROBATES!! It is far superior to those so-called high-tech digital systems and will also deter RAPSCALLIONS. All power to the Gnome Empire!

Our team left shortly thereafter, with some members allegedly shaking their heads in astonishment.

• Compur ICA Dresden DRP 258646 DRGM, made in Germany circa 1912.
• Compur Rolleicord DRP DRGM, made in Germany from 1934-1947. This was one of my mother’s early medium format cameras, acquired in the 40’s. DRP DRGM designates it was manufactured during or before WWII.
  

Second photo:

• Zenza Bronica medium format SLR, made in Japan, acquired in the   1960’s. My mother’s go-to medium format camera.
• Kodak Six-20 Brownie Junior made in the US from 1934-1942. It used 620 film and the body is cardboard.
• Mamiya 645 medium format SLR, made in Japan from 1975-1987. This was my medium format camera “back in the day.”

• Paillard Bolex H16 16mm motion picture camera, made in Switzerland 1935- 1940’s. This was my father’s camera, used for making family films and while he was assigned to a Japanese Whaling Fleet by General MacArthur following WWII. Over the years, other notable Bolex users and owners include: Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Andy Warhol, Peter Jackson, Jonas Mekas, Jean-Luc Godard, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, James Dean, David Lynch, Marilyn Monroe, Edmund Hillary, and Mahatma Gandhi.
