Editor’s Introduction: In October 2024, we began reporting on the activities of the infamous Gnome Empire, ruled by the malevolent Lord Emperor Wilson, located in the southern region of the continent Tampa on the distant planet Florida.

Gnome Empire Memorial

This time last year, Lord Emperor Wilson and the Gnome Empire were involved in the tumultuous Grand Rebellion against the Empire. Ultimately, the Rebellion was quashed… “resolved amicably”… leading to the restoration of peace in the Empire.

In memory of the Rebellion, and in a nod to improving relations with the former rebel factions, Lord Emperor Wilson directed the Empire to build a Memorial in honor of his former foes. Our intrepid reporting team was invited to the unveiling.

There were rumors among skeptics suggesting that the true purpose of the Memorial was to counteract the negative publicity surrounding the Emperor’s recent anti-immigration efforts and the actions of his S.I.C. agents—Skeleton Immigration Control agents. These agents are part of the Emperor’s elite Squall Troopers, tasked with removing alleged illegal immigrants from the Empire. Accounts of their unkind methods and generally bad attitudes have become widespread throughout the Empire.

Update: Secret Base Construction

In August of this year, our intrepid team of reporters followed up on leads and uncovered the construction of a Secret Base deep inside Empire territory.

Since our initial report, we have received tips indicating that construction has been delayed or halted.

Following the Memorial opening, our reporters ventured inland to gather evidence of the ongoing base construction. We discovered that while building activity had slowed, it had not completely stopped. A clandestine meeting with onsite personnel revealed that several critical pieces out of the total of 5,391 components were missing or assumed lost, leading to delays in their replacement.

Additionally, our reporters successfully launched a drone and captured photographs of a significant new tower still under construction. The intricate design of the tower obscured its true purpose.
