On a hot summer day, cool off with some Mountain Flowers!

I came across these slides in an unmarked Tupperware container buried in the back of an old file cabinet. A little research using the WABAC machine _{^{(thanks, Mr. Peabody, I gave the key back to Sherman)}} revealed that they were taken in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the late summer or early fall. It may have been 1985, but then again, maybe not. Back then, we were frequent visitors to the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and Virginia.

What captivated me about these images wasn’t just the close-up flowers, beautiful as they are. It was the interplay of colors, shapes, and light that really drew my attention.

Take a moment to shift your perspective and turn off your Literal Switch. Try looking beyond the surface details and focus on the essence of the light and colors.
